    There’s no tune in the world that much better records the pain of unrequited love than Eric Clapton’s “Layla”.

    And, Ed Sheeran– king of angsty tunes about love– is the only individual in the world geared up to cover it.

    The 1971 tune was discussed Clapton’s then-unrequited love for his pal’s better half, Pattie Boyd. Oh, and his good friend so occurred to be George Harrison, lead guitar player of The Beatles. TL; DR Clapton later on wed Boyd.
